Yersinia enterocolitica Detection

Yersinia enterocolitica is a psychrotrophic, foodborne pathogen capable of surviving refrigeration and causing gastroenteritis. It is commonly associated with pork and contaminated water. Our lab uses enrichment, selective plating, and PCR methods for accurate detection of pathogenic strains to support public health and compliance with food safety regulations.

Applications:

  • Raw and undercooked pork
  • Unpasteurized milk and dairy
  • Chilled seafood and vegetables
  • Drinking water and environmental samples
